Okanogan County Corrections Recovery Coaching
Program Overview:
Our Recovery Coaching Program is one component of a larger program, known as Medications for Opioid Use Disorder (MOUD) in the Okanogan County Jail.
This program has Recovery Coaches to meet with clients during their incarceration and connect them with resources prior to release. This program also allows incarcerated individuals with substance use disorders to develop a plan for release that protects their sobriety.
Peer Recovery Coach connections made during incarceration provide support and access to recovery resources post release. They also increase a person’s chances of sustaining long term recovery and pursuing access to Primary Care, Mental Health Services and whole person health.

More Information about MOUD in the Jail
Washington State passed legislation in 2019 requiring city and county jails to provide MOUD to individuals who had been receiving treatment in the community prior to incarceration and to individuals 30 days prior to release as appropriate, subject to securing funding. The legislation also required city and county jails to make reasonable efforts to connect individuals with community-based treatment upon release.
